We knew about grade and award inflation in american schools for at least 30 years now. The real fools are the rest of us, who, not only failed to confront the problem, but duplicated it and superseded it from the 90s onwards. Surely, I cant be the only one who thought something was odd about almost everyone in a class receiving a high distinction or a merit award, or how common it was to see about half the population being "the youngest" and "the top" of the class at the same time.

I can also assure you, Asian schools are not much of an improvement. Often, if the teacher likes a certain student, everyone else gets capped below par. Or sometimes every single student in a test scores EXACTLY 88/100 EVERY SINGLE TIME IN A ROW
